Beliefs in Action Our

Salvation makes us members of the body of Christ. We believe that the church is composed of every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. We enter into the life of the church, not by joining a denomination or a human organization, but by committing our lives to Christ.
The body of Christ is one, here and now. We believe that God calls all Christians to live in unity and peace. While Christians may not agree on all things, we can embrace the spirit of Christ in caring concern for one another. Jesus is our common foundation, and love is our only creed!
All members of the body of Christ are to live a holy life. We believe that God's standard of life for all Christians is one of moral purity and godliness, to live as Christ. As God's people, we represent Christ in this world.

In addition to these beliefs, we embrace these core biblical values:

The Lordship of Jesus Christ. There is one Lord, God's Son, Jesus Christ, over the church, so Christ is the church's ultimate authority in all things.
The Great Commission. Each of us is called to fulfill Matthew 28:18-20, making fully devoted followers of Christ disciples who will then teach others to follow him.
The Great Commandments. We are called to fulfill Matthew 22:37-39, not only loving God with our entire being, but also loving all that he loves.
The Holy Spirit's Work. God's Spirit equips believers with unique gifts that enable us to carry out the mission of Christ in the world. At the same time, the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in every believer (Galatians 5:22-23), which demonstrate the Spirit's presence within us.
Stewardship. All of life is to be used for the honor, glory, and service of God.

Northside Church of God is committed to nurturing and supporting the spiritual, emotional and social growth of children and their families. Our desire is to inspire children to look to Jesus for a life changing relationship that will set them on the course to explore the great plans God has for them. We believe it is critical for children to have a firm foundation in a relationship with Christ that is rooted in Biblical Truth. It is this foundation that will steady their walk as they journey through adolescence and adulthood. It would be our joy and delight to serve your child and you through the fellowship of this ministry as we journey together on the B.O.A.R.D.Walk.

Wakeup Youth Ministry

WakeUp! Youth Ministry

There's no better time than now for students to WakeUp! and hear the message God is speaking to their hearts. It's not just about getting out of bed and going to church. It's about allowing God to revive their hearts and minds through a relationship with Him. It's time for this generation of teenagers to rise up and fulfill the call of God to reach out to this community, to Jacksonville and to the world!

Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.
Ephesians 5:14

Northside Missions

Northside Missions

The Mission for Northside Church of God is to make lives better through Jesus Christ. We intentionally live out this mission in our local community as well as abroad.

We believe our church is to function as a mission house in Jacksonville. We value using our gifts and talents to serve our community, individually in the course of our daily activities, and corporately as we join together to make a difference in the lives of others.

We also believe our church is to have missional impact beyond the borders of our city. We financially contribute to several overseas missionaries and each year we send a work-camp team from our congregation to give physical support to a foreign mission.

If you would like to engage in making lives better here in Jacksonville and around the world, you are welcome to join us!

Typical Questions

Q What should I wear?
A If you're comfortable and clothed, you'll fit right in whether you're dressed up or dressed down.

Q Are there nursery and children services available during the Sunday Service?
A Yes, We have Nursery (0-3 years) available from 9:00 through the worship service. Families sit together initially, then children are excused to go to their age-appropriate service, prior to the Pastor's message. If you have an excited Pre-K toddler during the worship service, you're welcome to check them into the nursery. The last Sunday of each month is Family Sunday where children (Kinder.- 5th grade) remain for the entire service; Pre-Ks will be dismissed prior to the sermon for a special program in the Children's annex.

Q Will I be expected to give money?
A No tithes and giving are a spiritual issue, not an economic one. No one will be watching to see if a new person puts money in the offering plate. If you feel moved to give, you won't be denied the opportunity. Instead, as our members grow spiritually they work to exercise all facets of their faith, which includes giving back to God a portion of what he blessed to them.

Q Should I bring a Bible?
A Sure, but we have backups! We project the scriptures from the Pastor's message on a large screen and Bibles are also provided in the seating.

Q How often do you take communion?
A Our church chooses to take this monthly and sometimes at additional special times. Communion is a vital form of our worship. We practice it in remembrance of what Christ has done for us.

Q May I speak with the Pastor to learn more?
Our Pastor's are happy to meet to answer or discuss any questions you have or topics you may want to explore. Don't hesitate to ask any question!
