Beliefs in Action Our

•    Salvation makes us members of the body of Christ. We believe that the church is composed of every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. We enter into the life of the church, not by joining a denomination or a human organization, but by committing our lives to Christ.
•    The body of Christ is one, here and now. We believe that God calls all Christians to live in unity and peace. While Christians may not agree on all things, we can embrace the spirit of Christ in caring concern for one another. Jesus is our common foundation, and love is our only creed!
•   All members of the body of Christ are to live a holy life. We believe that God's standard of life for all Christians is one of moral purity and godliness, to live as Christ. As God's people, we represent Christ in this world.

In addition to these beliefs, we embrace these core biblical values:

•    The Lordship of Jesus Christ. There is one Lord, God's Son, Jesus Christ, over the church, so Christ is the church's ultimate authority in all things.
•   The Great Commission. Each of us is called to fulfill Matthew 28:18–20, making fully devoted followers of Christ—disciples—who will then teach others to follow him.
•    The Great Commandments. We are called to fulfill Matthew 22:37–39, not only loving God with our entire being, but also loving all that he loves.
•    The Holy Spirit's Work. God's Spirit equips believers with unique gifts that enable us to carry out the mission of Christ in the world. At the same time, the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in every believer (Galatians 5:22–23), which demonstrate the Spirit's presence within us.
•    Stewardship. All of life is to be used for the honor, glory, and service of God.

I'm New

What to expect

Being new to a church can be intimidating—even if you’ve been a few times and are looking into getting involved in a new area for the first time. Here’s what you can expect to experience.

We Are

Teachers, doctors, married and single parents, plumbers, infants, computer analysts, friends, secretaries, farmers, seamstresses, welders, dropouts, artists, teens, grandparents, students, managers, volunteers, graphic designers, and homemakers.

We Are

Christians from Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodists, Presbyterian, Anglican, and Jewish backgrounds; former agnostics and atheists; and first- second- and third- generation Church of God Christians.

We Are

Passionate about maintaining a loving and nonjudgmental atmosphere through our values and behavior. We ALL thrive when we can safely gather with others as we earnestly study scripture, ask questions, and discuss life application—without pressure.

What is service like?

a)    Guest parking near Main Entrance
b)    Coffee and snacks before (10:00-10:30) and after Sunday morning service
c)    Casual, friendly atmosphere
d)    Dimmed lights in sanctuary
e)    Live worship that seamlessly blends contemporary and traditional styles
f)    There is always time to pray by yourself or with someone at our altars.
g)    A Biblically grounded message from Pastor Judy Weeks

Typical Questions

Q What should I wear?
A If you’re comfortable and clothed, you’ll fit right in whether you’re dressed up or dressed down.

Q Are there nursery and children services available during the Sunday Service?
A Yes—We have Nursery (0-3 years) available from 9:00 through the worship service.  Families sit together initially, then children are excused to go to their age-appropriate service, prior to the Pastor’s message.  If you have an excited Pre-K toddler during the worship service, you’re welcome to check them into the nursery. The last Sunday of each month is Family Sunday where children (Kinder.- 5th grade) remain for the entire service; Pre-Ks will be dismissed prior to the sermon for a special program in the Children’s annex.

Q Will I be expected to give money?
A No—tithes and giving are a spiritual issue, not an economic one. No one will be watching to see if a new person puts money in the offering plate.  If you feel moved to give, you won’t be denied the opportunity. Instead, as our members grow spiritually they work to exercise all facets of their faith, which includes giving back to God a portion of what he blessed to them.

Q Should I bring a Bible?
A Sure, but we have backups! We project the scriptures from the Pastor’s message on a large screen and Bibles are also provided in the seating.

Q How often do you take communion?
A Our church chooses to take this monthly and sometimes at additional special times. Communion is a vital form of our worship.  We practice it in remembrance of what Christ has done for us.

Q May I speak with the Pastor to learn more?
A Pastor Judy Weeks is happy to meet to answer or discuss any questions you have or topics you may want to explore.  Don’t hesitate to ask any question!
